    Our current company has gone through several stages of development to get to where we are today. Originally, we worked in the laser optics laboratory of a research institute, developing measurement techniques using lasers. The institute fell apart during the change of regime, and our small laboratory became a separate company, which we later privately continued under the name Optikop. <\/p>\n

    In 1994, we set up Laseuropa Ltd, which distributed the instruments, but 5 years later we merged the two companies, keeping Optikop as the brand name. After 2009, we closed Laseuropa and merged into a larger company, which unfortunately stopped manufacturing soft lasers in 2012. We therefore re-established a company specialising in the production and distribution of soft lasers. Our new company is a family business, which is why we called it the Medical Laser Family Ltd, but we also wanted to use the word “family” to refer to the Optikop family of lasers, the devices we used to manufacture.<\/p>\n

    When we entered the market in 1989, only MOM’s 2-5 mW He-Ne lasers were available, we wanted to offer an alternative to this, having previously made some instruments using the laser diode. At that time there were only one or two companies working with such instruments. Our devices were initially only offered for acupuncture and cosmetic purposes. As we were very few on the market, we were soon found by doctors and a Swiss soft laser dealer. As a result of their search, after a few months we started to use it for medical purposes. <\/p>\n

    It was also at this time that our medical courses in soft laser therapy were launched, which were met with great interest.<\/p>\n

    Through our well-established relationship in Switzerland – we were already producing 2,000-2,500 units for the Swiss dealer, which was a truly excellent quality assurance school – we had access to a large literature, already extensive at the time, and were able to help, advise and provide technical material to our customers. This later led us to organise our own courses and to publish a textbook to help people learn about the subject, with the participation of the doctors who worked with us. <\/p>\n

    Our first devices were low-power red lasers (5-10 mW), but we moved relatively quickly to 30-50 mW infrared lasers. We were the first in the world to reach the upper limit of the soft laser category, 500 mW in a medical soft laser device. We were also the first to produce combined hand-held lasers, which can achieve a synergistic effect on the treated area through a common beam path. <\/p>\n

    Through our close relationship with our customers, we constantly receive requests for changes from doctors, which we try to incorporate into the devices wherever possible.     I graduated in 1971 from E\u00f6tv\u00f6s Lor\u00e1nd University in physics. From then until 1989 I worked at the Institute of Electrical Research. Initially, I worked on the physics of industrial plasmas and later the optical measurement of the properties of these plasmas. From 1976 I was group leader of the laser laboratory and from 1983 I was head of the scientific department. I have published about 40 papers in this field, some of which were published by myself. In 1989, the Research Institute was split into several parts as a side effect of the regime change. Afterwards, I headed one of the independent parts for two years, and since 1992 - except for the transition from 2009 to 2012 - I have been developing and manufacturing laser diode-based laser devices for medical applications in an independent enterprise.     She graduated from the SOTE Faculty of General Medicine in 1979. She first became a company doctor, then a district (family) doctor in 1983, and is currently a general practitioner in Budapest. In 1988, she passed a specialist examination in general medicine (now known as family medicine), and in 1990 she passed a theoretical and practical examination in acupuncture. In 1998, she also passed a specialist examination in occupational medicine. Since 1991 she has been involved in soft laser therapy, initially (from 1996) under the auspices of the Department of Family Medicine at Semmelweis University, and since 2002 as an accredited postgraduate medical course (Soft Laser Therapy in Medical Practice). Her textbook on Soft Laser Therapy was first published in 1994, the second edition in 1996, and later in 2003, 2009 and 2017. From its foundation (1995) until its dissolution (2007), she was vice-president of the Hungarian Medical Soft Laser Society (MOLLT) and responsible editor of the journal Soft Laser Therapy.     ISO 13485:2016<\/h3>

    ISO 13485 is a comprehensive quality management system for the design and manufacture of medical devices. Companies that meet the requirements of the standard comply with the relevant legal requirements both in the manufacture of medical devices and in related services. The standard covers design, development, manufacturing, commissioning, service and sales of medical devices.     CE 1011 - European directive 93\/42\/EEC on medical devices<\/h3>

    The devices of the Medical Laser Family comply with the requirements of the European Directive 93\/42\/EEC on medical devices. Within the EU, medical devices cannot be marketed without the CE marking, which is intended to indicate that the devices comply with the requirements of the European Medical Devices Directive 93\/42\/EEC and can be freely marketed in the internal market of the European Economic Area (EEA). The annual accreditation of our company's activities and products is carried out by EMKI-OGY\u00c9I, a notified body with reference number 1011.
